Samuel Osei APR, MCIPR
Samuel Osei is an experienced strategic communications leader and public speaker with expertise in
reputation management, brand positioning, media relations, and digital communications. Driven by
his passion for storytelling, Samuel founded Think stories Africa, a knowledge sharing, networking, and
skills improvement platform for communicators across Africa.
As Manager of Communications and External Relations at Newmont Ghana Gold Ltd, a subsidiary of
the world’s leading gold mining business, he leads the development and execution of the
communications and external relations strategies of the company’s Ahafo mine and its $800M Ahafo
North project. Samuel has been instrumental in coordinating Ghana’s brand visibility and participation
at the world’s largest mining conference dedicated to the capitalization and development of mining in
Africa – Mining Indaba, held annually in Cape Town, South Africa. He also served on the Public
Relations Committee of the Ghana Chamber of Mines.
Prior to joining Newmont Ghana, he worked with Accra-based Citi FM as a Broadcast Journalist and
occupied key roles, including Online Editor and Head of Research and Features. He has traveled
extensively, gathering stories and interviewing some of the most influential personalities in Ghana
and the diaspora, resulting in the production of about 100 radio documentaries.
In 2018, Samuel was named Newmont Ghana’s Ally of the Year and awarded for supporting and
promoting the careers of women within the company. He is an accredited member of the Institute of
Public Relations, Ghana and was adjudged Public Relations Discovery of the Year in 2019. He is also a
member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, UK.
Samuel is passionate about the African story and believes the continent’s communicators must lead
in reshaping its narrative. He loves to write, inspire and share knowledge.
